The Algeciras Bay Campus of the University of Cádiz, in collaboration with the Campus Tecnológico Foundation, is consolidating its position as a hub for knowledge, training, and innovation in the Campo de Gibraltar region. Within this framework, it will host the first Conference on Renewables for Industrial Defossilization on October 29 and 30. This event will bring together universities, research centers, companies, and stakeholders from the energy sector with the aim of advancing towards a more sustainable, fossil-fuel-free industry.
The Vice-Rector of the Algeciras Bay Campus, Mariluz Martín, highlighted the importance of holding this event “at a strategic moment,” given that “the energy transition is already a reality, and the region is part of the Andalusian Hydrogen Valley.” According to Martín, the Conference will serve as a meeting point for professionals and researchers to share knowledge, projects, and solutions that drive the shift towards sustainable energy models.
The Conference will feature nearly 100 scientific communications and posters, reflecting the significant interest generated by this first edition. Furthermore, over 200 participants, including researchers, students, and industry professionals, have already registered. “The high level of participation and the involvement of so many entities demonstrate the relevance of the theme and the importance of continuing to promote knowledge from within the region,” emphasizes Mariluz Martín.
