Current state of hydrogen deployment in Spain: threats and opportunities.

The presentation will provide an up-to-date overview of the state of renewable hydrogen deployment in Spain, analysing both the progress made in recent years and the challenges that still shape its development. Regulatory, industrial, technological and market aspects will be addressed, as well as Spain’s role in the European and international context. The talk will pay particular attention to the main threats that may slow down deployment (financing, demand, infrastructure, permits, competitiveness and project consolidation), but also to the opportunities that hydrogen represents for industry, the energy transition, technological innovation and strategic autonomy.
