PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cádiz since 2013 [Doctoral Thesis co-supervised by the University of Valladolid: “Alternative processes for the high-pressure treatment of WWTP sludge”, within the NovEDAR_Consolider Project], Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Sciences, Technical Industrial Engineer (Mechanical Specialisation), Master’s Degree in Integrated Water Management [University of Cádiz], and Master’s Degree in Hydrogen Energy and Technologies [Loyola University; Master’s Thesis: “Synthesis and kinetic study of Ba-Ru/CeO2-based catalysts for the production of renewable NH3 at laboratory scale”].


A two-decade career guided by a strong vocation for knowledge and environmental stewardship, water, environmental and process engineering, and the provision of solutions aimed at balancing environmental health and productive activity. After three postdoctoral periods [Duke University (The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation); Supercritical Fluids International_SCFI Ltd. (LIFE_Lo2x & Aquacritox Eco-Innovation projects); and the University of Cádiz (work prior to the RECICOM_CDTI Project)], he is currently a Substitute Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology at the University of Cádiz.


His work in Advanced Thermal Hydrolysis was the first published on the thermal hydrolysis process for sludge using live steam and hydrogen peroxide. He has extensive experience in hydrothermal processes, notably hydrothermal oxidation and hydrothermal gasification; the latter for the valorisation of by-products/waste with hydrogen production.


In recent years, he has been highly committed and actively involved in working on the various initiatives and actions that the University of Cádiz has carried out and continues to carry out, to position itself as a benchmark university at national and European level in the field of Hydrogen and Power-to-X.
