UCA and the Technology Campus Foundation are organizing the second edition of the RH₂EDIN Conference on hydrogen and renewable energies in Algeciras

The first deadline for researchers and industry professionals to submit their papers to participate in the event will remain open until May 15.

Following the success of the first edition, the University of Cádiz and the Algeciras Technology Campus Foundation are organizing the II RHEnovables Conference for Industrial Defossilization, RHEDIN 2026, a forum specializing in renewables, hydrogen, and energy transition, which will take place on November 18 and 19 at the Bahía de Algeciras Campus, specifically at the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSIA).

This event aims to bring together, once again, researchers, professionals, and companies from the green hydrogen and clean energy industries to discuss advances, challenges, and opportunities on the path towards the defossilization and decarbonization of the industrial and port sectors, and to foster synergies among the various stakeholders.

The Conference, promoted by the Vice-Rectorate of the Bahía de Algeciras Campus and funded by the Diputación de Cádiz, gathered more than 200 attendees from national and international locations, over 40 entities, and featured more than 80 presentations last October. This new edition is therefore shaping up to be a key event for analyzing the current status of green hydrogen and renewables within the framework of the energy transition in Andalusia and Spain.

The 2025 edition also featured the participation of sponsors such as Moeve, Acerinox, Edp, H2site, the Port Authority of Bahía de Algeciras, the Association of Major Industries of Campo de Gibraltar, and Evos, among others.

The program covers seven themes or topics: Advances in solar and wind energy; Emerging renewables; Processes for renewable H₂ production; Advances in H₂ storage and transport; Processes for renewable molecule production; Power-to-Power technologies and fuel cells; and investment and maintenance in the energy transition.

This content will be addressed through several scientific communication sessions in different ETSIA spaces, three plenary lectures by top-level experts, and a poster exhibition. The closing lecture will be given by Dr. Vicente Cortés, Professor at the University of Seville, co-founder and honorary president of INERCO, and recipient of the National Award for Industrial Engineering for his professional career in 2023.

The deadline for researchers or professionals to submit their projects or scientific communications for the Conference, either in oral or poster format, opens today for its first call for abstracts at a reduced price until May 15. Subsequently, two more registration periods will open, concluding on July 15. Likewise, those interested in attending can also register starting today on the event website, https://rh2edincongreso.com/, where all available information can be found.
